    July 2019

Dear St. Mary’s School for the Deaf Stakeholders:

June was a month of celebrations at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf.  Our students’ academic achievements were honored and celebrated at the Elementary and Secondary Awards Days.  The 60th Annual Sports Awards Banquet celebrated our impressive athletes and their achievements.  Students at the High School level passed New York State Regents Examinations.  Class of 2019 SMSD Commencement Exercises were a night to remember.

Thank you to all of the stakeholders for making the 2018-2019 school year a monumental success.  Most importantly, staff, students, and parents continued to work as a team so the students reach their full potential across all settings of our school.  We will continue to work on the Council of Educational Administrators of schools for the Deaf (CEASD) recommendations, keeping in mind our goal of accreditation again in 2023.  Accreditation ensures that St. Mary’s School for the Deaf has a continuous school improvement plan in place.

Summer School begins on Monday, July 8th and ends Friday, August 16th.

Fall classes will begin on Wednesday, September 4th.

Our doors are always open and we welcome visitors to come and tour our campus.   Please feel free to contact us to make an appointment or to ask any questions you may have about Deaf Education.

    Enjoy your summer!

    Child First!
