The Bisons traveled to Rochester School for the Deaf to play the Wildcats, our longtime rivals. We had a few SMSD players injured and banged up but promised one another to play their best to play regardless of the outcome.

At half-time, the Bisons led by two points. Refusing to give up, the Bisons kept fighting for the lead. Late in the 4th quarter,  exhaustion overtook us, and we couldn't score.  The wildcats managed to take the lead and won, 36 to 29.

    Farhad Ghorbani - 11 points

Di'Ovanny Lacen and Saul Alivira - 7 points

Yaser Abdollahi and Ifeanyi Nwabueze-2 points

The boys gave their best efforts and played with great heart!  The Bisons were able to close the gap but fell to the Lions by the score of 58 to 51.  We are really proud of the boys' and their tremendous efforts and performance!

Farhad Ghorbani led the Bisons with 22 points. Di’Ovanny Lacen had 12 points and Saul Alivira finished with 11 points.  Yaser Abdollahi and Ifeanyi Nwabueze played great defense!

The Bisons hosted the Ravens from The Gow School.  This is our first game back from the WNY snowstorm.  The Bisons only had one day to get back in shape!  Coaches kept our players positive and told them to play hard regardless of the outcome of the game.  The Ravens started off quickly and the Bisons struggled to find their shots and a rhythm .

The Ravens continued to keep the lead with three-point shots. The Bisons found a way to catch up with defensive pressure. The final was 46-33… Ravens .  Farhad Ghorbani led the team with 13 points and DiOVanny Lacen had 12 points.

Our next game will be at Central Baptist this Thursday.

The Bisons hosted New Life Christians from Olean, NY last night.  It was a great game and both teams demonstrated great sportsmanship!

New Life Christian started off with the lead, but the Bisons fought hard to keep it close! New Life was able to make lots of substitutions and keep their team fresh. Our young Bisons such as Shannan Green and Fahim Shah got the opportunity to play quite a bit in the game.  Despite the Bisons' great hustle, effort and positive attitude, New Life Christian was able to maintain its lead and defeated SMSD…50 to 28. Farhad Ghorbani had 14 points while Yaser Abdollahi and Saul Alvira, with 8 points and a few steals !

Our next home game will be on January 16th against Central Baptist.

Last night, we hosted Rochester School for the Deaf in the I-90 Classic. Both teams were of equal skills.  It was very competitive the entire game, through the last remaining seconds.

The Bisons started off with the lead.  We worked hard and kept the lead the entire game.  Rochester kept it competitive and closed the gap to 8 points with two minutes left in the game. Saul Alivira went to the bench for foul trouble late in the 4th quarter. The HERD did an excellent job keeping the lead of eight points and led us to victory by the score of 50-42!!

The Bisons hosted the Stanley G. Falk Falcons yesterday.  The Falcons are always known to have great athletes.  We prepared mentally and physically for this challenge on Monday at our practice. During the first half, the Falcons controlled most of the game and had the lead.  The Bisons battled to stay with them and kept it close. In the second half, it became physical between both teams.  Each team had opportunities at the foul line. The Bison captain, Saul Alivra, worked hard to lead his team. His efforts lead to more opportunities to score as well as a greater defensive effort. The Bisons still had trouble finding the basket, giving the Falcons a solid lead going into the final few minutes.  In the end, we lost, 43-28.

Our next game is The I-90 Classic event against Rochester School for the Deaf this Thursday.  Come out and show your support!!! Hope to see you all there!

The Bisons traveled to Perry, N.Y. to play The Gilead Warriors.  With only two games played, the Warriors' strength, speed, and performance were greater than our other opponents. In the first half, both teams competed pretty well, and the Warriors had a slight lead.  We changed some strategy and defense and were able to make it competitive but were down by 15 points. In the second half, Farhad Ghorbani and Saul Alivra showed great effort and made many steals which we turned into points.  Ifeanyi Nwabueze and Yaser Abdollahi applied lots of pressure on the defense. Unfortunately, the Warriors were too much and we lost 56 to 46!

Farhad Ghorbani led the team with 19 points and Saul Alivira at 17 points.

The Bisons traveled to West Seneca Christian for our first game of the season.  This was our season opener, and we were rusty, yet the Bisons hustled and put their best effort into the game, making the coaches proud! We got into foul trouble and had some injuries to our veteran Bisons, DiOvanny Lacen and Saul Alivira. The younger players had to step up and play!  Unfortunately, in a close game, the Bisons fell short and lost to the Falcons…37-33. Farhad Ghorbani led the team with a high score of 20 points. Yaser Abdollahi, DiOvanny Lacen and Saul Alivira chipped in as well.

The next game will be tomorrow at NYSSD-Rome NY.

The Bisons travelled to Rome NY to play against NYSSD, New York State School for the Deaf. The Trojans are known to play hard and be tough opponents. We prepared as a team to be ready for their style of play. The Bisons handled the NYSSD toughness but unfortunately on the offense side , we struggled to find the basket. It was a back-and-forth game for 3 quarters. After the Trojans got the lead late in the 4th quarter, the Bisons couldn't find a way to catch up and the final score was 54 to 44 .

Our next home game will be next Tuesday at 5:30 pm .  Please come out and support us !  Hope to see you there !
