The lady Bisons took on New Life Christian at home on Tuesday. New Life Christian proved to be a tough opponent and the Lady Bisons couldn’t seem to find a way past their servers.  Aleyshka Rivera played an aggressive game, coming alive early on to contribute to several plays as well as earning 2 serving points which for her is an accomplishment. Kearah Kelly also stepped up throughout the game and earned her first dig of the season.  Elise Watson played strong at the net earning her first attack point and Julia Bronneberg continues to improve her serving game. All the girls tried their best but it just wasn’t enough compared to the New Life team and the girls lost three in straight matches. There are two more attempts for a win next week before the girls head to the ESDAA tournament at Fanwood. Please wish the girls good luck for next week.

The lady Bisons traveled to Rochester this weekend for their annual homecoming tournament. The ladies started off a little jet lagged and rusty from losing a week of practice with our full squad. During the first night the girls took on both Rochester and Ohio schools for the deaf in a round robin matchup. The lady Bisons lost first to Rochester in two straight sets and then Ohio in another two straight.

The lady Bisons then took on Ohio school for the deaf on Saturday in the first bracketed game of the day. After seeing OSD the night before, the girls came into this game with a new strategy and a strong constitution. Julia Bronnenberg lead the team in points all weekend and Elise Watson and Cameron Cole played big across the court with some amazing saves and attacks. Emma Foster received her first attack point of the season and Aleyshka Rivera and Brionna Zappa both came a live to help the team win some impressive volleys.

Though it was a competitive match, the lady Bisons fell in two sets ending up in third place overall for the tournament and Cameron Cole was selected for the all star team. Please congratulate the girls on a job well done as they continue to improve through out the season.

The lady Bisons had our home opener against Rochester yesterday afternoon. Though we were short a key player, the girls didn’t let that stop them from coming out strong. It was a pretty competitive game from the beginning to the end, but the Bisons did fall in three straight sets to the lady Wildcats. Captain, Elise Watson, kept the team on track throughout the game as a key utility player on the floor.  Julia Bronneberg led the team in scoring with 3 aces and 8 pts overall. Kearah Kelly, Aleyshka Rivera and Emma Foster made some great saves that kept our girls in the game through some tough volleys and Brionna Zuppa played her fist full varsity game, contributing some essential passes to keep us alive. Overall, the girls showed that if they can stay positive, they can keep themselves in the game. Thank you to the fans that made it out yesterday, we hope to see lots more of you for our next home game which is Tuesday, October 2nd at 4:30.

The lady Bisons opened up their season with a scrimmage against Tapestry yesterday afternoon. Though it was not an official game, it gave us a chance to see where our girls were starting off this year. Our girls did not disappoint, working hard together to take on the more experience Tapestry team.  Julia Bronneberg led the team in points and assists while Cami Cole stepped up her game with 7 attacks and 3 kills. Elise Watson was a great utility player and Keara, Aleyshka and Emma all helped out with some key points throughout the game. Though they fought hard the girls fell in three straight sets to Tapestry. However everyone present said that these girls did fight hard and never gave up. We travel to Olean tomorrow to take on the tall New Life Christian team. Please wish all the girls good luck and we hope to see you all at our home opener on Sept. 26th.

The lady Bisons played their first official game against New Life Christian school yesterday evening. Although  the girls tried their best, they fell short in three straight sets against the young New Life team. Aleyshka Rivera lead the team in serves with a total of 5 points overall and Julia Bronneberg managed her first attack ever. Cameron Cole and Elise Watson played well across the court, keeping the girls in some very intense volleys while Emma Foster and Kearah Kelly contributed some very nice plays as well. Please congratulate Brionna Zuppa who made her varsity debut in the second game. Poor serve receiving led to the girls downfall but they are determined to improve their skills going forward. Our next game is Wednesday, September 26th for our home opener. Please try and stop in at 3:30 to cheer on your lady Bisons as they take on their rivals the Rochester Wildcats.
