The Parent Center

Loving FamilyThe Parent Center is the liaison between the parent and the school, welcoming and encouraging your calls or visits on any number of concerns or issues. The Parent Center Lounge provides a relaxed, comfortable setting to induce learning and communication. It includes resource materials such as videotapes, books, DVD's access to the internet, and other parent needs, along with catalogs for assistive devices. We provide a phone with access to Video Relay Service. Not aware of what that is? Come and visit us. We will demonstrate.

We provide many ways to induce creative communication that will ultimately assist you not only in conveying academic information but other valued information that may be of importance to you and your family such as family history, traditions, social protocols, intellectual facts and theories, as well as your moral and spiritual values. All of which will lead to practical insight on many aspects of your child's life.

Established in 1979 as part of the Special School of the future and through the auspices of a grant from the Kellogg Foundation and Gallaudet College , the Parent Center has grown in the past 29 years. We continue to meet the ever growing educational, needs that we believe will make our students' life more productive and meaningful. Partnership is the key to accomplishing this goal. We are committed to bringing you the best possible programs, resources and access to services to assist you in having a direct, clear and effective partnership in your child's education.
