Senior Crystle Marion Breaks WNY Girls Basketball Scoring Record
2/2/2012

Crystle Marion, a resident of Buffalo, NY, set a new record in Western New York last night. She broke the WNY Girls Basketball Scoring Record previously held by Samantha Kopp of Franklinville with 2,420 points.

On Thursday February 2nd, the SMSD Girls Basketball team played The Park School, away, in their gym. Crystle scored 26 points bringing her all-time total to 2,432 points (with a handful of games remaining this season). The officials stopped the game following her 15th point of the evening, which broke the record. It was an emotional moment for Crystle, shedding tears as she hugged her teammates, coaches and family members in attendance.

Crystle Marion is a senior at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf and has numerous awards and accolades for her athletic involvement at the School. She hopes to attend Gallaudet University in Washington, DC next year, and will continue playing basketball there.
