AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING/HOMEWORK PR0GRAM

We are very excited to announce the opening of our after-school Tutoring and Homework Program evolved to offer students’ help in reading and homework assignments.

One of the most serious implications of deafness is the lack of language development. Our tutoring program has been specifically designed to offer our students a broader language base and, eventually, to further impart a keener comprehension of content at all academic levels – Deaf Infant Program through to Keystone Program.

This program is for those students needing a bit of extra assistance in expanding vocabulary, reading comprehension (which is paramount to achieving success on the state tests), and also in developing homework completion skills. As we all know, once language is mastered, a whole new world of opportunity and success will be realized.

For those students who already love to read, our after-school tutoring and homework program will offer them “a little extra time and atmosphere” to finish their book and/or textbook chapter(s).

We are very happy and eager to provide this much-needed program so that our students will rise to their full academic potentials, and, thereby, become contributing members of the adult world.

For more information on this valuable program, please contact Patty Velocci, Elementary School Principal, at 834-7200, ext. 119.
