A Message From The Superintendent...
February 2012
Dear Parents and Stakeholders of St. Mary’s School for the Deaf:
Today, February 1st, 2012 starts the third academic quarter at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf. Our students, teachers, and staff continue to work together to achieve the goals of each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
St. Mary’s Accreditation Committees made tremendous progress towards obtaining Accreditation from the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools for the Deaf (CEASD). The end product of the Accreditation process is a school improvement plan and strategic plan for the entire organization. Our Board of Trustees Strategic Planning Committee is an integral part of our process.
Why accreditation? Participation ensures the success of our School. In the accreditation process, we take a “hard look in the mirror” and analyze our organizational strengths, weaknesses, goals and objectives. Our motivation is to be the best organization possible. We must ensure each of our students reach their full potential, participate in a rigorous and relevant curriculum, and our students and families have the best educational and recreational facilities.
