Community Support
While St. Mary’s is primarily funded through the State of New York, recent budgetary concerns have hit our School. We are always in need of additional funds to support many school programs and services that the State does not cover.
There are many ways you can support St. Mary’s School for the Deaf.
Leave a lasting memory with our Brick Campaign:
The walkway where your brick would be located leads to a statue of Abbe de L’Epee (who opened the first deaf school in Paris, France). This bronze monument is the work of Eugene A. Hannon, a deaf sculptor who began his study of art at St. Mary’s. Buying a brick along this walkway is a great way to commemorate an important piece of St. Mary’s history. We offer two brick sizes 6 X 9 ($150) and 12 X 12 ($300).

Donate to our Annual Appeal Campaign:
Each year in late November – December, we run an Annual Appeal Campaign. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please e-mail Krystal at krystals@smsdk12.org.

Attend One Of Our Fundraising Events:
Throughout the year we host numerous fundraising events that are always a great time!
Our Annual Fundraisers are:
5K Run/Fun Walk: Stay tuned for the date to be announced later in February. Help SMSD raise money for the school and participate in a great race through Delaware Park...More information will be coming soon!
Annual Dinner & Auction: This event is held annually in June and is a great night out. The evening features three auctions: Chinese auction, Silent auction and Live auction. Tickets typically cost $40 and it includes a great dinner! This year's event will be held on Friday June 15th at The Buffalo Convention Center. Stay tuned for more details!!
Tray Auction: This yearly event is typically held in May and is a Chinese auction featuring hundreds of baskets. It is usually a fundraiser for the Junior or Senior class. The date has tentatively been set for Thursday, May 17th. Stay tuned for more details!
